  4. =

    Metered cash this month

    $100.00 /mo

Pay as you go: the cheapest way to buy this volume, not just the first plan big enough.

Bars share one linear scale across the 3 counted stages, so a multiplier shows as length. Units differ by stage and are labelled. Cash is not on that scale.

100,000 pages divided by 95% success → 100,000 requests → Pay as you go $100.00/mo = $1.00 per 1,000 pages kept

The arithmetic, line by line
  1. pages: $0.001 per request source
  2. JavaScript rendering: $0.001 per request source
  3. consumes 100,000 requests per month
  4. cheapest way to buy that: Pay as you go, $100.00 of metered usage = $100.00 per month source

Limits and terms

What Expand AI publishes beyond the price: the limits a job runs into and the terms that change what a plan is worth. Each line links the page it comes from and the day it was read.

Speed, concurrency and sessions

  • Concurrency rises by tier with successful spend and account age: 2 on the free tier, 5 after $10, then 10, 20, 50 and up to 100 after $1,000 and 60 days; provisioned browsers at $1 a month each skip the wait. source, read Oct 23, 2026

What you may do with the results, and how long they are kept

  • Results are stored for 7 days on the free tier and 30 days on pay as you go. source, read Oct 22, 2026

Credits, renewal and billing

  • Credits do not expire. source, read Oct 22, 2026

What Expand AI does not publish

What Expand AI is

Expand AI’s Fetch turns any URL into Markdown for AI agents, read from the rendered page by its own vision model, Iris, with the page’s hidden JSON beside it in the same call. The same credits pay for a crawl, Highlights that pull cited passages from a page already fetched, and conversions of PDFs, YouTube videos and audio (Expand AI and pricing, checked Oct 22, 2026).

How billing works

There is no plan: you buy credits as you go at $1 per 1,000, and they do not expire. A successful Fetch is one credit, and JavaScript rendering, residential proxies and bot protection are “handled automatically for every request”, so a rendered or protected page costs what a plain one does. A crawl bills every page as one Fetch. Highlights cost one credit a request; a PDF adds one credit a page, a page read by the vision model five, a YouTube video five (ten a minute without captions), and audio ten credits a minute. “Failed, blocked, and empty requests cost nothing,” but an error page the site serves, such as a 404, “is still a page and costs a credit” (pricing, checked Oct 23, 2026). New accounts get 10,000 free credits, $10 of usage (pricing and Expand AI, checked Oct 22, 2026).

Before you buy

Concurrency grows with what you have spent and how long ago you started: 2 requests at once on the free credits, 5 after $10, and up to 100 after $1,000 and 60 days. A job that needs more at once sooner can rent browsers at $1 each a month, up to 1,000, billed by card apart from the credits. Results are kept 30 days on pay as you go. The pricing page names no smallest purchase and does not say whether the free credits renew (pricing, checked Oct 22, 2026).

Who it suits

Expand AI suits agent and RAG builders who want Markdown from pages that block bots without choosing a proxy or a renderer, and teams whose volume swings from month to month, since credits never expire and no plan fee runs while you are idle. At a steady high volume a monthly plan can cost less per page; the calculator sets Expand AI’s bill for your job against every other scraping API.
