Every available option was priced in advance from published vendor rules. Changing a control only switches between those checked options; nothing is sent anywhere and no account is needed.

Bars share one linear scale across the 3 counted stages, so a multiplier shows as length. Units differ by stage and are labelled. Cash is not on that scale.

Product scope and returned result

You.com Web Search API returns real-time web and news result records for AI applications. A response can include titles, URLs, LLM-oriented snippets, and result metadata, with country and language filters. The public price includes News and allows from one to 100 URLs in a call. You.com also sells Contents and Research APIs, but those return full page content or synthesized cited research and have separate prices. (You.com pricing and API welcome, retrieved 2026-07-26).

The comparable job for this record is ranked web retrieval, not full-page extraction and not a multi-step research answer. Keeping those products separate prevents a buyer from adding the Contents or Research rate to every Search call when those endpoints are not used. (You.com pricing, retrieved 2026-07-26).

Every recorded meter

The stored meter is one Web Search API request per call. Paid usage costs $5 per 1,000 calls. News is included in that rate, and a call may return up to 100 URLs without a separate result-count meter in the current record. The reviewed public pages do not state whether failed calls are billed. (You.com pricing, retrieved 2026-07-26).

The free profile is limited to 100 calls per day. That is a daily allowance, not a monthly plan. The current public documentation also states that new API-platform accounts start with $100 in complimentary credit, but it does not state the credit’s duration or all eligibility conditions. (You.com pricing and API welcome, retrieved 2026-07-26).

Contract path, minimum, and trial

A buyer can test you-search through You.com’s free MCP profile without an API key, signup, or credentials, up to 100 queries per day. For higher limits, Contents, Research, or standard application credentials, the buyer creates a platform account and API key. The pricing page states that pay-as-you-go use has no minimum, so ordinary Web Search does not require a quote. (You.com pricing and API welcome, retrieved 2026-07-26).

Sales is available for annual usage, custom concurrency, procurement, and enterprise data controls. A buyer should provide monthly calls, expected URLs per call, countries and languages, News usage, peak QPS, retention requirements, and any DPA or zero-data-retention need. The acceptable-use policy prohibits copying or storing significant portions of API content for reuse without another agreement, so a durable result store should be raised explicitly in that discussion. (You.com pricing and acceptable-use policy, retrieved 2026-07-26).

Price status and why there is no monthly plan price

You.com publishes a per-call rate and a daily free allowance instead of a fixed monthly Web Search subscription. Enterprise commitments can be negotiated, but the standard endpoint is openly priced and has no minimum. (You.com pricing, retrieved 2026-07-26).

Priced alternatives

  • Tavily Project starts at $30 per month. (Tavily API credits, retrieved 2026-07-26).
  • Olostep Starter starts at $9 per month. (Olostep, retrieved 2026-07-26).
  • Firecrawl Hobby starts at $16 per month when billed annually, or $19 month to month. (Firecrawl pricing, retrieved 2026-07-26).
