Olostep does not bill failed fetches, so failures cost nothing here.

Bars share one linear scale across the 3 counted stages, so a multiplier shows as length. Units differ by stage and are labelled. Cash is not on that scale.

What Olostep does not publish

What Olostep is

Olostep is a developer API for scraping, crawling, mapping, batch processing, web search, AI-generated answers, and monitoring. Its scrape endpoint can return formats such as Markdown, HTML, screenshots, or structured output while the service handles page retrieval. Firecrawl, Nimble, and ScraperAPI are the nearest named comparisons. Olostep is distinguished by putting several web-data operations under one API and including JavaScript rendering and residential IP use in its standard subscription request allowance. How billing works

For standard subscription scraping, one unit is one successfully completed request. JavaScript rendering and residential IP use are included in that request unit rather than presented as separate public multipliers. The Answers endpoint uses a larger credit charge per request and may also incur underlying model costs. Olostep also documents a separate pay-per-use route through x402. The common buying mistake is to assume that every endpoint consumes the same single-request unit. An Answer is not equivalent to a scrape, and its model component prevents a simple conversion from the scrape allowance. What Olostep does not publish

  • The exact added model charge for an Answers request. Source reviewed: Olostep Answers endpoint, retrieved 2026-07-26.
  • Whether Answers credits are added to a separate underlying scrape credit or replace it. Sources reviewed: Olostep and Answers endpoint, retrieved 2026-07-26.
  • Numeric concurrency for the highest public self-serve plan in the readable pricing table. Source reviewed: Olostep, retrieved 2026-07-26.
  • One universal overage rate across subscriptions and top-up options. Source reviewed: Olostep, retrieved 2026-07-26.

Who it suits

Olostep suits developer teams that want scrape, crawl, search, and monitoring operations from one API and value a standard request that includes rendering and residential access. It is less suitable for an Answer-heavy workload requiring an exact pre-purchase cost per response, or for procurement that needs every high-volume concurrency and overage figure public. The reason is that standard scrape billing is comparatively direct, while Answer introduces a different credit weight and an unpublished model component.
