What Keirolabs does not publish
- The pricing Markdown gives pack balances of 15,000 credits Pro limits; llms.txt says 20,000. The pricing calculation does not assume a pack throughput limit.
- The public tariff does not clearly state how a job is priced when a pack balance falls below 1,000 credits.
- Whether a failed request uses credits is not published.
- Keirolabs' pricing page prices Answer and Extract at 2 credits on the free plan and 1 on a paid plan; its API documentation's endpoint table says 5 and 3.
What Keirolabs is
Keirolabs is a search API for AI agents and retrieval pipelines. It describes its search as its own index of more than 50 billion pages, and its default endpoint, /search/fast, races several engines and returns the first valid answer in about a second. The same key also reaches a cheaper results-only search (/search/lite), search with page Markdown, cited answers, multi-step research, page extraction, batch jobs and a separate Google results endpoint, which has its own page. The same API also goes by the name BrowserFoundry, with the same endpoints and keys (Keirolabs docs; Keirolabs llms.txt, checked Oct 17, 2026).
How billing works
Every call draws credits from one balance, and each endpoint has its own credit cost.
The free plan includes 750 credits a month. Essential costs $29.99 a month ($25.00 a month billed yearly) for 11,250 credits; Pro costs $49.99 a month ($42.00 a month billed yearly) for 33,750 credits; Startup costs $99.99 a month ($83.00 a month billed yearly) for 112,500 credits. Subscription credits reset each cycle and are spent before pack credits.

Rates assume every subscription credit is used. Unused credits and whole top-up purchases change the cash bill.
The official tariff, checked Oct 22, 2026, gives paid plans a lower rate for lite, fast, content, extract and answer. Deep search and Google results keep their full credit cost.
Before you buy
Keirolabs’ own pages still disagree on two endpoints: the pricing page charges Answer and Extract 2 credits on the free plan and 1 on a paid plan, while the API documentation’s endpoint table says 5 and 3 credits, so check your dashboard before budgeting either. /search/lite returns only title, URL and snippet for now; its content mode is temporarily unavailable. Whether a failed request uses credits is not published (Keirolabs pricing; Keirolabs docs, checked Oct 23, 2026).
Pack credits expire 6 months after purchase. A pack balance of at least 1,000 credits gets Essential rates; the public tariff does not clearly state how the rest of a job is priced after the balance drops below that threshold. The calculator keeps those totals uncertain. The pricing Markdown gives Pro limits from 15,000 pack credits, while llms.txt says 20,000; no pack throughput is assumed here. Whether a failed request uses credits is not published (pricing; llms.txt, checked Oct 22, 2026).
Who it suits
Startup includes 112,500 credits, enough for 3,000,000 lite searches at $99.99 a month.
It suits a team that wants search, page content and cited answers from one balance and will keep a subscription. Pack buyers should check whether their workload crosses the discount threshold; Google results use a separate endpoint and tariff. Compare it for your volume on the web search API table.
