The boundary
For recurring completed standard page requests after Olostep’s one-time trial is excluded, Firecrawl is cheaper through 1,000 pages a month because its recurring free allowance covers that volume. Olostep becomes cheaper from 1,001 through 5,000 pages because its $9 Starter plan still covers the workload while Firecrawl moves to $19. The plans tie at $99 from 5,001 through 100,000 pages; Olostep is lower from 100,001 through 200,000; they tie again at $399 from 200,001 through 500,000; and Olostep is lower from 500,001 through the last shared published allowance of 1 million pages. The workload boundary is at least as important as the page boundary. Olostep says JavaScript rendering and residential IP use are included in a standard successful scrape request. Firecrawl prices an ordinary page at one credit, but enhanced proxy and AI extraction use higher published credit classes, browser work is time-metered, and Agent pricing is dynamic. A rendered or residential job should therefore not reuse the plain-page table without checking which Firecrawl mode it invokes. Billing models side by side
Firecrawl sells monthly credits. Scrape, Crawl, Map, and ordinary page work draw from page-oriented credits, Search uses a result-bundle meter, browser sessions use elapsed minutes, enhanced access can replace the basic page rate, and Agent has no fixed public credit cost. Pick Firecrawl at or below 1,000 pages when the recurring free allowance is usable, or when its browser sandbox and Agent path match the product architecture. Pick Olostep from 1,001 through 5,000 and in the higher bands where its plan is lower, especially when standard requests need the included rendering and residential access. At the two broad tie bands, decide by output and endpoint requirements rather than declaring a price winner.
