Choose HasData when
- no published charge favours it for this job; weigh what it offers beyond price
Choose ScrapingDog when
- price for 100,000 JavaScript pages a month matters most: $90.00 against $119.00
- most of your pages are plain HTML: $0.40 against $0.59 per 1,000
- your targets block bots: $2.00 against $2.49 per 1,000
- you need more requests in parallel (50 against 15)

Bars share one linear scale across the 3 counted stages, so a multiplier shows as length. Units differ by stage and are labelled. Cash is not on that scale.

Both ladders share one linear scale, topping out at 1,000,000 counted units, so a longer bar means more billed work rather than a different drawing.
These figures are for one stated workload: 100,000 JavaScript-rendered pages a month at a 95% success rate. Change the volume above and both bills, the verdict and the curve follow it.
Decision boundary: ScrapingDog costs less for plain and JavaScript pages at every volume past HasData’s free allowance. Both sell monthly credit plans of 200,000, 1,000,000 and 3,000,000 credits, and ScrapingDog charges less for each: $40, $90 and $200 a month against HasData’s $59, $119 and $249. ScrapingDog also counts a JavaScript page as 5 credits where HasData counts 10, so 100,000 JavaScript pages a month cost $90 on ScrapingDog’s Standard plan and $119 on HasData’s Basic. HasData’s edge for small jobs is a free plan that renews: 1,000 credits every month, enough for 1,000 plain pages or 100 JavaScript pages, where ScrapingDog gives a new account 100 credits once. Protected sites change the answer. A JavaScript page through HasData’s residential proxy costs 15 credits; through ScrapingDog’s premium proxy it costs 25. Because the two plan ladders step at different volumes, the cheaper API changes as the volume grows. At 50,000 such pages a month, HasData’s Basic plan ($119) holds them while ScrapingDog needs Pro ($200). At 100,000, ScrapingDog’s Pro ($200) is cheaper than HasData’s Growth ($249). At 150,000, HasData’s Growth ($249) beats ScrapingDog’s Premium ($350). Protected pages without JavaScript work the same way, at 5 credits on HasData against 10 on ScrapingDog. Type your own volume into the calculator above rather than reading a rule from one point. (HasData request costs, ScrapingDog pricing, checked Oct 13, 2026)
Billing models side by side
HasData sells one monthly credit balance that its scraping APIs, MCP servers and no-code scrapers all draw on. Startup is $59 for 200,000 credits, Basic $119 for 1,000,000 and Growth $249 for 3,000,000, with larger Growth steps at 5, 10 and 20 million credits for $415, $830 and $1,660. Yearly billing charges ten months for twelve. A plain page costs 1 credit, a page through the residential proxy 5, a JavaScript page 10 and both together 15. Its Google SERP API and its named APIs for Amazon, Zillow, Indeed and other sites cost 10 credits a call; the Google SERP Light API costs 5. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing period (only the Enterprise plan carries them over), and failed or blocked requests cost nothing. The pricing page gives no rate for use past a plan’s credits; HasData asks you to contact it for more. (HasData pricing, HasData credit rules, HasData request costs, checked Oct 13, 2026)
ScrapingDog sells 27 monthly plans from Lite, $40 for 200,000 credits, through Standard ($90, 1,000,000), Pro ($200, 3,000,000) and Premium ($350, 6,000,000) up to Nova Pro at $30,000 for 1.1 billion credits. Yearly billing also charges ten months for twelve. A plain request costs 1 credit, JavaScript rendering 5, a premium proxy 10 and both together 25; its AI Parser costs 10 credits. Google SERP Light costs 5 credits and the fuller Google SERP Advance 10, the same as HasData’s two Google endpoints. Failed, blocked and timed-out requests are refunded to the balance. When a month’s credits run out, requests get an over-limit response until the credits reset; an upgrade takes effect at once and is prorated. (ScrapingDog pricing, checked Oct 13, 2026)
ScrapingDog’s page does not agree with itself on unused credits. One section says that from the Standard plan upward “credits you don’t use this month carry over to your next billing cycle”; its FAQ says the monthly credits reset on the billing date. Until ScrapingDog settles it, budget as if they reset. (ScrapingDog pricing, checked Oct 13, 2026)
What each provides that the other does not
HasData is the only one of this pair whose free credits renew: 1,000 every month, with one request at a time and no card. It charges fewer credits for protected pages, 15 against 25 with JavaScript and 5 against 10 without. The same balance also pays for its no-code scrapers, which bill per row of data, so a team that uses both does not need two subscriptions. (HasData pricing, HasData request costs, checked Oct 13, 2026)
ScrapingDog runs more requests at once for the money: 50 at a time on the $90 Standard plan against 15 on HasData’s $119 Basic, and 100 on the $200 Pro plan against 50 on HasData’s $249 Growth. Its self-serve ladder goes far higher, to 1.1 billion credits a month, where HasData’s self-serve plans stop at 20 million. It charges half HasData’s credits for a JavaScript page, and it publishes a credit price for AI parsing, which HasData’s credit table does not. (ScrapingDog pricing, HasData pricing, HasData credit rules, checked Oct 13, 2026)
Who should pick which
Pick ScrapingDog for most page jobs. Plain and JavaScript pages cost less on it at every volume past HasData’s free allowance, it runs more requests at once on each plan, and it has room to grow past 20 million credits without a sales call. Pick HasData for a small recurring job that fits in 1,000 free credits a month, for protected pages at a volume where its ladder lands lower (from 40,001 to 66,666 JavaScript pages through the residential proxy, for example, HasData’s Basic costs $119 and ScrapingDog’s Pro $200), or when your team also uses its no-code scrapers on the same balance. On either one, do not count on leftover credits: HasData’s expire every month, and ScrapingDog’s own page gives both answers.
