Both bills, step by step

Scrape.do

  1. Successes you want

    100,000 pages

Your stated workload. Every vendor on this site is priced against this same number.

  2. × 1

    Attempts you are billed for

    100,000 requests

Scrape.do does not bill failed fetches, so failures cost nothing here.

  3. × 5

    What the meter counts

    500,000 credits

One attempt is not one billed unit here: this workload multiplies by 5 before any money is involved.

  4. =

    Cash per month

    $99.00 /mo

Pro: the cheapest way to buy this volume, not just the first plan big enough.

Bars share one linear scale across the 3 counted stages, so a multiplier shows as length. Units differ by stage and are labelled. Cash is not on that scale.

ScrapingDog

  1. Successes you want

    100,000 pages

    See the note above.

  2. × 1

    Attempts you are billed for

    100,000 requests

ScrapingDog does not bill failed fetches, so failures cost nothing here.

  3. × 5

    What the meter counts

    500,000 credits

  4. =

    Cash per month

    $90.00 /mo

Standard: the cheapest way to buy this volume, not just the first plan big enough.

Both ladders share one linear scale, topping out at 500,000 counted units, so a longer bar means more billed work rather than a different drawing.

These figures are for one stated workload: 100,000 JavaScript-rendered pages a month at a 95% success rate. Change the volume above and both bills, the verdict and the curve follow it.

Decision boundary: both charge 1 credit for a plain page, 5 with JavaScript rendering, 10 through residential or premium proxies and 25 for both, so the cheaper one is decided by where your volume lands on each plan ladder. For plain pages Scrape.do is cheaper up to 250,000 a month ($29 against $40 or $90), ScrapingDog from 250,001 to 1,000,000 ($90 against $99), Scrape.do again to 1,250,000 ($99 against $200), and the two keep trading places up to Scrape.do’s last plan at 10,000,000 credits; past that only ScrapingDog publishes a plan. For JavaScript pages the same steps come five times sooner: Scrape.do up to 50,000, ScrapingDog from 50,001 to 200,000 ($90 against $99), Scrape.do from 200,001 to 250,000. (Scrape.do pricing, Scrape.do request costs, ScrapingDog pricing, checked Oct 12, 2026)

Billing models side by side

Scrape.do sells four monthly plans: Hobby at $29 for 250,000 credits, Pro at $99 for 1,250,000, Business at $249 for 3,500,000 and Advanced at $699 for 10,000,000, with custom plans above. Only successful results use credits: 2xx responses, 400, 404 and 410 count as successful, and every other failure is free. Some domains get a stricter profile applied on Scrape.do’s side, which raises their cost: Google is 10 credits a request because residential proxies are switched on for it, LinkedIn 30. Each response carries a header with the credits it used. (Scrape.do pricing, Scrape.do request costs, checked Oct 12, 2026)

ScrapingDog sells a much longer ladder, from Lite at $40 for 200,000 credits, Standard at $90 for 1,000,000 and Pro at $200 for 3,000,000 up to plans of more than a billion credits. Failed or blocked requests are refunded, and when the credits run out the API answers with an over-limit response until the next billing date or an upgrade. Its search and data endpoints have their own rates: Google SERP Light and Google Maps are 5 credits a request, Google SERP Advance 10. (ScrapingDog pricing, checked Oct 12, 2026)

What each provides that the other does not

ScrapingDog is the only one of this pair with dedicated endpoints for many named sites on the same credits: Google’s search, maps, news, jobs and shopping results, YouTube, LinkedIn jobs and posts, Walmart and others, each at a published credit cost. Its plans also go far past Scrape.do’s last published plan, so a job above 10,000,000 credits a month has a public price only here. (ScrapingDog pricing, checked Oct 12, 2026)

Scrape.do is the only one of this pair that publishes which status codes count as a success (2xx, 400, 404, 410) and a per-domain list of the profiles it applies on its side. That lets you work out in advance what a blocked or missing page costs, and its smallest paid plan, $29, is the cheaper way in. (Scrape.do request costs, Scrape.do pricing, checked Oct 12, 2026)

Who should pick which

Pick by your monthly volume in credits, not by the plan names: multiply your pages by 5 if they need JavaScript, by 10 for residential or premium proxies, or by 25 for both, then look up both ladders. At the default job on this site, 100,000 JavaScript pages (500,000 credits), ScrapingDog’s Standard plan is $90 and Scrape.do’s Pro plan is $99. Pick ScrapingDog for named Google, YouTube or marketplace endpoints, or above 10,000,000 credits; pick Scrape.do for a small job under its Hobby plan, or when you need to know exactly which responses are charged.
