The boundary

For basic non-rendered datacenter requests, ScrapingAnt is cheaper through 500,000 requests a month, ZenRows is cheaper from 500,001 through 1 million, ScrapingAnt is cheaper again from 1,000,001 through 3 million, ZenRows is cheaper from 3,000,001 through 6.2 million, and ScrapingAnt is cheaper from 6,200,001 through its final published self-serve allowance of 8 million credits. ScrapingAnt also has the lower recurring entry cost because its monthly free tier includes 10,000 credits, followed by $19 for 100,000 and $49 for 500,000. ZenRows publishes a one-time trial rather than a recurring free result allowance, and its first paid plan is $69.99 for 250,000 basic results. That early advantage disappears immediately after ScrapingAnt’s 500,000-credit plan ceiling, creating the first meaningful flip. Billing models side by side

ScrapingAnt sells monthly API credits. A datacenter request without rendering costs one credit, datacenter rendering costs ten, residential access without rendering costs twenty-five, and residential rendering costs one hundred twenty-five. Google targeting with datacenter access and no rendering has a separate published ten-credit treatment. The basic-request boundary moves materially for rendered traffic. ZenRows publishes five credits for JavaScript while ScrapingAnt publishes ten for datacenter rendering, so the same nominal credit allowance yields twice as many ZenRows rendered requests. ScrapingAnt separately publishes a 125-credit residential-rendered bundle, while ZenRows’ reviewed highest Universal Scraper class is a 25-credit protected-result request. Those latter modes are not asserted to provide identical routing or access, so they must not be compared as interchangeable outputs. What each does that the other does not

ScrapingAnt is the only member of this pair whose reviewed product combines its direct API with an MCP interface and natural-language extraction under the API-credit account while also selling standalone proxy bandwidth separately. ZenRows is the only member whose reviewed commercial system includes a Puppeteer and Playwright-compatible Scraping Browser with a time-and-bandwidth formula alongside an explicit protected-result request class. Who should pick which

Pick ScrapingAnt in its three lower basic-request bands, particularly when the recurring free allowance or MCP access matters. Pick ZenRows in the 500,001-to-1-million and 3,000,001-to-6.2-million bands, or when the lower JavaScript multiplier and Scraping Browser match the workload. Build separate forecasts for basic, rendered, residential, Google, protected, and browser traffic because the headline credit allowance does not preserve the same URL capacity across those modes. ScrapingAnt’s pricing page contains a rendered-capacity marketing example that conflicts with its detailed credit documentation, and its public concurrency statements do not yield one reliable numeric ceiling.
