When switching is justified

The decisive condition is output reuse. Parallel’s customer terms say one query’s output is primarily for one end customer, restrict caching and cross-customer reuse, and prohibit using significant portions to build a data-selling product or train an AI model. If the application needs any of those uses, a price comparison cannot make Parallel eligible. Linkup has a different uncertainty: its reviewed pricing page does not publish customer-side caching or redistribution rules, so procurement still needs written confirmation rather than assuming permission. (Parallel customer terms, checked 2026-07-26; Linkup pricing, checked 2026-07-26.)

Who should stay with Parallel

Stay when ten results per request fit the job, the workload remains within the published 600 requests per minute, and processor choice is useful. Parallel records separate Turbo, Basic, and Advanced processors and a distinct meter for results above the first ten. It also offers custom volume and enterprise data controls. Those are real reasons to keep the incumbent when its one-end-customer output model matches the product rather than constraining it. What a switch gives up

Kagi’s current record exposes one standard search-query meter, Linkup’s exposes standard and deep result or answer routes, and Perplexity’s exposes one raw Search API meter. None reproduces Parallel’s recorded processor selection plus a ten-result baseline and separate extra-result meter. A switch may remove restrictive output terms or add sourced answers, but the buyer must reprice result depth and retest the response contract instead of comparing one nominal request with another.
