Cash per month
$99.00 /mo
Startup: the cheapest way to buy this volume, not just the first plan big enough.
Bars share one linear scale across the 3 counted stages, so a multiplier shows as length. Units differ by stage and are labelled. Cash is not on that scale.
100,000 pages divided by 95% success → 500,000 credits → Startup $99.00/mo = $0.99 per 1,000 pages kept
What makes it cost more
One page is not always one billed unit. These are ScrapeOwl's published charges for each kind of work; failed requests are not billed.
| Work | Costs | Per | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| A standard page | 1 credit | request | source |
| JavaScript rendering | 5 credits | request | source |
| Residential proxies | 10 credits | request | source |
| JavaScript rendering with residential proxies | 25 credits | request | source |

What ScrapeOwl is
ScrapeOwl is a web scraping and data extraction API that accepts a target URL plus optional elements to return. A request can instead return full HTML and can add headers, cookies, custom JavaScript, waits, POST data, country selection, or a sticky proxy session. It is for developers who want page retrieval and selector-based extraction in one request rather than running their own browser and proxy layer. ScrapingBee, ScraperAPI, and ZenRows are the nearest named competitors. ScrapingBee combines an HTML API with dedicated structured endpoints, ScraperAPI combines a general scraping API with structured endpoints and an asynchronous service, and ZenRows offers a Universal Scraper API plus a separate Scraping Browser. ScrapeOwl’s narrower distinction is element-level extraction together with four clearly listed request bundles based on rendering and proxy choice. How billing works
One unit is a credit. A basic datacenter-proxy request uses one credit, adding JavaScript rendering replaces that with five, using premium residential proxies without rendering uses ten, and combining premium proxies with rendering uses twenty-five. These are alternative total request costs, not additive feature charges. HTTP 200 and 404 responses are billed; the documented 400, 401, 403, 429, and 500 responses are not. The buying mistake to avoid is assuming a missing target page is free. ScrapeOwl explicitly bills the 404 case. Source: ScrapeOwl documentation, checked Jul 27, 2026.
Who it suits
ScrapeOwl suits a developer who can classify requests into basic, rendered, premium-proxy, or rendered premium-proxy modes and wants optional element extraction in the same API. It does not suit procurement that requires public overage, rollover, expiry, annual, or custom-plan rates, and it needs extra care when a missing page is an unacceptable result because that 404 still consumes credits. The reason is the combination of a clear per-mode request meter with incomplete plan-edge terms. Sources: ScrapeOwl pricing and ScrapeOwl documentation, checked Jul 27, 2026.
