Pay as you go: the cheapest way to buy this volume, not just the first plan big enough.
Bars share one linear scale across the 3 counted stages, so a multiplier shows as length. Units differ by stage and are labelled. Cash is not on that scale.
100,000 standard searches → 100,000 requests → Pay as you go $142.50/mo = $1.43 per 1,000 searches
What makes it cost more
One page is not always one billed unit. These are Bright Data SERP API's published charges for each kind of work; failed requests are not billed.

Limits and terms
What Bright Data SERP API publishes beyond the price: the limits a job runs into and the terms that change what a plan is worth. Each line links the page it comes from and the day it was read.

What Bright Data SERP API does not publish
- The pricing page does not state whether unused Scale-plan requests roll over.
- No customer-side caching, retention, redistribution, or attribution restriction was found in the reviewed SERP-specific pages.
- The billing docs page states the unit as per 1,000 successful requests but publishes no dollar figure, so the per-request rate in the meter is taken from the SERP pricing page instead.
- The docs no longer state whether one successful call that returns 100 or more results is a single billable request, so that claim was removed.
What Bright Data SERP API is
Bright Data SERP API retrieves localized results from major search engines and can return parsed or raw output without the buyer managing proxy rotation, retries, or CAPTCHA handling. It is for rank tracking, search monitoring, research, and other systems that need search-engine result pages as data. SerpApi, SearchApi, and Oxylabs SERP Scraper API are the closest named alternatives. Bright Data’s relevant distinction for procurement is its success-only request meter with unlocking and parsing included, rather than a browser-time or bandwidth charge. How billing works
One unit is one successful SERP API request. Parsing, proxy management, unlocking, internal retries, and bandwidth are included in that unit, while failed or errored requests are not billed. In asynchronous mode, the initial send call is the billable request and the later collect call is not. A request remains one unit even when its response contains many organic results. The common buying mistake is to multiply by returned result rows instead of API calls, or to count an asynchronous collect as a second search. What Bright Data does not publish for SERP API
- Whether unused requests in a committed plan roll into a later billing period (Bright Data SERP API pricing, Jul 26, 2026).
- Customer-side retention, caching, redistribution, and attribution rules on the reviewed SERP-specific pricing and billing pages. Sources reviewed: SERP API pricing and SERP billing documentation, checked Jul 26, 2026.
- A self-serve rate for volumes beyond the public committed tier and a fixed enterprise rate (Bright Data SERP API pricing, Jul 26, 2026).
- A single list of every supported parameter and its effect on the billing unit on the pricing page itself. Sources reviewed: SERP API pricing and SERP billing documentation, checked Jul 26, 2026.
Who it suits
Bright Data SERP API suits teams that need several search engines, location and device controls, parsed output, and a billable-success rule. It is less suitable for buyers who need contractual answers about caching or redistribution from the public rate card alone, or who want every plan and data-use term settled without a sales or legal review. The reason is that the operational unit is unusually clear, but procurement terms beyond request billing are not fully described on the SERP-specific public pages.
